Judges and MCs Announced for Coffee Masters NYC, 2016


After a hugely successful competition in London, Coffee Masters is back and ready to take on New York City. Applications to contend are now open, so if you think you can make a world-class coffee and Signature Drink video worthy of an Oscar, then click here.

 

In other exciting news, we can now finally reveal the full line-up of judges and MCs! Putting the baristas through their paces and giving you the low-down live at the event this year will be…

 

The Judges

 

Anne Lunell 

Anne Lunell

Anne is a Swedish Barista and Brewers champion and the visionary behind Koppi, an internationally respected and well-loved coffee roaster in the Swedish town of Helsingborg.

 

Dan Streetman

Dan works as the Green Coffee Buyer at Irving Farm Coffee Roasters. He also volunteers for the SCAA as a member of the Cup Tasters Committee, Barista Guild Education Pathway Committee and many more.

 

David Donde

David Donde

David’s Cape Town based cafe, Truth Coffee, has been named the best in the world by a prominent UK Newspaper or two. He believes in results, individuality, playing on people’s strengths and hates excuses.

 

John Letoto

A native of Hawaii, John has served as a USBC Judge, trainer, and occasional latte art competitor. He currently resides in Houston, Texas, where he works for Greenway Coffee and Blacksmith.

Gwilym Davies 

Gwilum Davies

2009 World Barista Champion and founder of East London’s Prufrock Coffee, Gwilym, is famed for making coffee in 36 different countries. He’s now settled in Prague where he owns and runs a Barista Training Centre.

 

Jordan Michelman 

Jordan

Jordan co-founded one of the most important coffee news sites in the world, Sprudge.com, in 2009. Now a network of over seventy writers around the world, Sprudge covers the latest and greatest in coffee, including our very own Coffee Masters.

 

Lem Butler

New Jude

2016 USBC Champion Lem Butler is joining the already impressive line-up of MCs. When not competing on stage — he’s won the Southeast Regional Barista Competition no fewer than five times in seven years — Lem spends his time working for Counter Culture Coffee.
